Project Description

The W Hotel is located on west "B" Street, between State and Columbia Streets, Downtown San Diego. The W hotel is a combination of new construction of a 21 story building containing 263 hotel rooms and suites and the renovation of a two story historic brick building constructed in 1892 and originally operated as a steam laundry. The historic renovation now houses the hotel’s restaurant and bar on the first floor, meeting rooms on the second floor and a roof top bar with a sand beach

Old Columbia Square consists of four lots, each containing 5,000 square feet for a total of 20,000 square feet on the north 1/3 of block 4 at Middletown, being lots 1, 2, 11, and 12 located in the central business district of downtown San Diego. It is located directly across the street to the south of the 27 story First National Bank building. The Cabot, Cabot and Forbes office tower is directly across Columbia Street to the west of the subject property. On the south side of the block across "C" Street is the 30 story Emerald Plaza office building and the 27-story Wyndham Emerald Plaza Hotel. Diagonally across "C" Street is the newly constructed 13-story Hall of Justice which houses superior courts and the District Attorneys' offices. Directly to the east of the subject property is a parking lot. That block is currently desiginated for future court expansion with plans for a 25-story court facility.
